American Traveler is hiring an RN for a high-risk, high-volume Labor & Delivery unit requiring 1 year of experience and WA or compact RN licensure.

• 8-week night shift contract, 4x12 hours (19:00-7:30)
• High-risk, high-volume Labor & Delivery unit with 4 ORs, 31 rooms/beds
• Average daily census of 15 with 500-600 deliveries per month
• Patient population includes midwifery clients, private OB patients, substance recovery support, and community care clinic patients
• Patient ratio of 1:1-2
• Uses Epic EMR and electronic fetal monitoring
• Floating required to Post Partum/Antepartum units and possibly to sister facilities with Mother/Baby units
• Works every other weekend and holidays as needed
• Schedule posted every 6 weeks based on unit needs

• Active WA or compact RN license required in hand at submission
• BLS and NRP certifications required
• ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, and AWHONN Intermediate certifications preferred
• Minimum 1 year of Labor & Delivery experience required
• High-risk L&D experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Ability to function as Baby Nurse during delivery and provide newborn care until transfer to postpartum
• Ability to circulate for deliveries and provide newborn assessments, eye care, and Vitamin K injections
• Experience with high-acuity, fast-paced environments
• Experience with medications such as Heparin, Insulin, and Magnesium Sulfate
• Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required

• Responsibilities include circulating, newborn care, and supporting high-risk deliveries
• Staffing follows AWHONN guidelines
• Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Pre-approved time off considered on a case-by-case basis
• First-time travelers will be considered for this position
• Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rate, or can apply locally at a lower rate
• Former permanent employees of this facility must wait at least 3 months and reside outside a 50-mile radius before returning as a travelers
• Travelers may be required to float between sister facilities near the contracted location
