American Traveler is hiring a Labor and Delivery RN for a high-risk, high-volume unit requiring at least 1 year of L&D experience and active WA or compact RN licensure.

• Night shift, 4x12 hours (7:00 PM-7:30 AM)
• 8-week contract length with no extensions offered
• High risk, high volume Labor and Delivery unit with 31 beds/rooms and 4 ORs
• Average daily census of 15 patients with 500-600 deliveries per month
• Patient population includes midwifery clients, private OB patients, adult recovery services supporting substance recovery, and community care clinic patients
• Uses Epic EMR and electronic fetal monitoring
• Required to circulate for C-sections and function as Baby Nurse during delivery, including newborn care until transfer to postpartum
• Administers Heparin, Insulin, and Magnesium Sulfate
• Float required to Postpartum/Antepartum units and sister facilities performing Mother/Baby care
• Required to work every other weekend and holidays as needed
• Schedule posted every 6 weeks based on unit needs

• Active WA or compact RN license required in hand at time of submission
• BLS and NRP certifications required
• ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, and AWHONN Intermediate certifications preferred
• Minimum 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience required
• High risk L&D experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
• 2 references covering 1 year of experience within the last 3 years, including charge RNs/leads accepted

• Responsibilities include assisting with high risk and vaginal deliveries, circulating for C-sections, newborn assessments, and administering Vitamin K injections and eye care
• Staffing follows AWHONN guidelines
• Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Pre-approved time off considered on a case-by-case basis and must be requested upfront
• First-time travelers are accepted for this role
• Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
• Local radius rule of 50 miles applies
• Former Providence permanent staff must be separated for at least 3 months and reside outside a 50-mile radius to be eligible to return as a traveler
• Travelers may be required to float between sister facilities near the contracted location
