Registered Nurse – Labor and Delivery

Seattle, WA | Acute Care

Contract | 8-Week Assignment | Nights | 4x12-Hour Shifts (19:00–07:30)

• Provide direct patient care in a high-risk, high-volume Labor and Delivery unit serving midwifery clients, private OB patients, and community care populations
• Function as Baby Nurse during delivery and continue newborn care — including eyes, Vitamin K (thighs), and newborn assessments — until transfer to postpartum (Hard Stop Requirement)
• Circulate in the OR setting as required (Hard Stop Requirement)
• Administer and monitor high-acuity medications including Heparin, Insulin, and Magnesium Sulfate
• Utilize EPIC and perform electronic fetal monitoring in accordance with AWHONN guidelines
• Float to Postpartum and Antepartum, with potential float to sister facilities providing Mother/Baby care

• Active RN license; compact license must be in hand at time of submission
• BLS certification required
• NRP certification required
• Minimum 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience
• High-risk L&D experience required; must be comfortable in fast-paced, high-acuity environments
• Ability to circulate in the OR and perform newborn care including assessments and injections
• Must live within 50 miles of the facility to be considered a local candidate; locals are welcome to apply
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 designated holidays:
  Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
• All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront at time of submittal; post-offer RTO requests may not be considered

• ACLS certification
• AWHONN Advanced or AWHONN Intermediate fetal monitoring certification
• Experience supporting patients in substance recovery or community care settings
• Familiarity with high-volume delivery environments (unit averages 500–600 deliveries/month)

• First-time travelers are welcome — this is an excellent opportunity to gain experience in a dynamic, high-acuity L&D environment with a structured 8-week contract
• Work within a well-resourced unit staffed to AWHONN guidelines, featuring 31 rooms and 4 operating rooms
