Registered Nurse – Labor and Delivery

Seattle, WA | Acute Care

Contract | Nights | 4x12-Hour Shifts (19:00–07:30)

• Provide direct nursing care in a high-risk, high-volume Labor and Delivery unit serving a diverse patient population including midwifery clients, private OB patients, and community care patients
• Function as Baby Nurse during delivery, providing continuous newborn care including eyes, vitamin K injections (thighs), and newborn assessments until transfer to postpartum — hard stop requirement
• Circulate in the OR as required — hard stop requirement
• Administer and monitor high-acuity medications including Heparin, Insulin, and Magnesium Sulfate
• Utilize EPIC and perform electronic fetal monitoring — hard stop requirements
• Float to postpartum and antepartum units, and may float to sister facilities that provide Mother/Baby care

• Active RN license; compact license must be in hand at time of submission
• BLS certification required
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required
• Minimum 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience
• High-risk L&D experience required; must be able to work in fast-paced, high-acuity environments
• Must live within 50 miles of the facility to be considered local; locals are accepted

• ACLS certification preferred
• AWHONN Advanced or AWHONN Intermediate certification preferred
• Experience working with Adult Recovery Services or substance recovery patient populations
• Familiarity with AWHONN staffing guidelines and high-volume delivery environments

• Join a high-volume unit with an average of 500–600 deliveries per month, offering significant exposure to diverse, complex cases across a 31-bed Labor and Delivery department
• First-time travelers are welcome, and experience is valued in a unit that follows AWHONN guidelines for safe staffing
