Travel RN - ICU

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a Magnet, Level I trauma teaching hospital, requiring strong tele and ventilator management skills and a WA or compact RN license.

• Active WA or compact RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certification required
• Minimum 2-3 years of solid MICU experience required
• Must pass a tele/EKG competency exam demonstrating proficiency in dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Level I and Level II trauma experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Required skills include ventilator management, telemetry, and conscious sedation
• Additional required skills include IV therapy, arterial line management, blood product administration, central line and PICC line care, chest tube assistance, continuous IV sedation, emergency medications, titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, CVVHD/CRRT, cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and IV insulin protocols
• Preferred skills include IV starts, ICP monitoring, pulmonary artery (Swan Ganz) line management, hypothermia protocol/Arctic Sun, Impella, and IABP experience
• Prior travel nursing experience preferred

• Work in a Medical/Cardiac ICU (MICU/CORICU) setting
• Patient population is approximately 70% medical (sepsis, pneumonia, ARDS, organ failure, DKA) and 30% cardiology (heart failure, post arrest, arrhythmias)
• Patient ratios are 1:2 on days and 1:3 on nights
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-07:30
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating required to other ICU units and boarder areas within scope
• Uses Epic EMR and Pyxis medication system
• Provide critical care nursing to medically and cardiologically complex ICU patients
• Any solid color scrubs accepted; facility also provides light blue scrubs for unit use
• COVID vaccination and booster required with no exceptions
• Prior UW/Harborview staff must have 18 months separation before returning as a travaler
• Minimal RTO accommodated, with no RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment
• Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate with no mileage radius restriction
