Licensed Veterinary Technician - Part-Time

Blue Pearl Pet Hospital is hiring experienced Part-Time Licensed Veterinary Technicians to work days in our busy Emergency and Critical Care department in Downtown Seattle, WA.

Schedule: Saturday Day Shift

LVT Pay: $25.60 - $49.15 / hour

This location covers the cost of parking downtown and bus passes.

Pay Band: This is a starting point and depends on experience and advancement through the Kahuna leveling system.

We offer competitive shift differential pay for eligible hours worked during nights and weekends, based on a 4-hour minimum. For example:

• Mon - Fri: 6pm to 8am = $4.50 Shift Differential
• Sat & Sun: 8am to 6pm = $4.50 Shift Differential
• Sat & Sun: 6pm to 8am = $8.00 Shift Differential

As an Emergency Veterinary Technician, you will:

• Induce, monitor, and recover anesthesia using anesthesia/monitoring equipment.
• Triaging emergency cases, including obtaining vitals such as temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate, and blood pressure.
• Perform digital radiography with proper technique and positioning.
• Understand normal ranges of patient vital signs and interpret blood pressure and other vital signs, alerting veterinarians to changes.
• Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR.
• Calculate medical math, administer medications via appropriate routes and durations.
• Perform phlebotomy and place intravenous catheters in peripheral vessels.
• Place and maintain feeding tubes and central line catheters.
• Mentor and train colleagues, demonstrating patience and empathy in client interactions.
