Animal Care Technician I – Charles River Laboratories

Seattle, WA | Salary: $21.30 – $22.00 per hour

We are looking for an Animal Care Technician I to join our Insourcing Solutions team in Seattle. The role focuses on animal welfare, vivarium cleanliness, and maintaining high standards of care in accordance with SOPs.

• Ensure high standards of animal welfare are met.
• Provide food, water and clean housing to animals according to applicable SOPs.
• Perform routine animal health observations.
• Operate washer for cleaning and sanitizing animal cage supplies, autoclave for sterilizing equipment.
• Monitor temperature and humidity, reporting any issues to supervisor or manager.
• Receive, unpack, and house animals according to SOP and Animal Receiving Form.
• Understand proper room entry order and adhere to biosafety requirements.
• Maintain accurate records and organize supply areas.
• Maintain vivarium cleanliness and waste removal in accordance with applicable SOPs.

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum of 0-6 months directly related laboratory animal experience in a laboratory animal facility.

• BS in either Animal Science or Life Sciences.
• AALAS Certification at the ALAT level.
