Animal Care Technician I – Charles River Laboratories
Location:
Seattle, WA | Salary: $21.30 – $22.00 per hour
We are looking for an Animal Care Technician I to join our Insourcing Solutions team in Seattle. The role focuses on animal welfare, vivarium cleanliness, and maintaining high standards of care in accordance with SOPs.
Responsibilities- Ensure high standards of animal welfare are met.
- Provide food, water and clean housing to animals according to applicable SOPs.
- Perform routine animal health observations.
- Operate washer for cleaning and sanitizing animal cage supplies, autoclave for sterilizing equipment.
- Monitor temperature and humidity, reporting any issues to supervisor or manager.
- Receive, unpack, and house animals according to SOP and Animal Receiving Form.
- Understand proper room entry order and adhere to biosafety requirements.
- Maintain accurate records and organize supply areas.
- Maintain vivarium cleanliness and waste removal in accordance with applicable SOPs.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 0-6 months directly related laboratory animal experience in a laboratory animal facility.
- BS in either Animal Science or Life Sciences.
- AALAS Certification at the ALAT level.
