Blue Pearl Pet Hospital
is hiring experienced Licensed Veterinary Technicians to work Overnight in our busy Emergency and Critical Care department in Downtown Seattle, WA

LVT Pay:$25.60 - $49.15 / hour

$3,000 Sign-on bonus for qualified candidates!

This location covers the cost of parking Downtown and bus passes.

Schedule: Overnight shift either 3 12s or 4 10s.

This pay band is a starting point and is dependent on experience and advancement through the Kahuna leveling system
.

We also offer competitive shift differential pay for eligible hours worked for nights and weekends.

* Shift differentials are based on a 4-hour minimum.

For example:

  • Mon – Fri: 6pm to 8am = $4.00 Shift Differential

  • Sat & Sun: 8am to 6pm = $4.00 Shift Differential

  • Sat & Sun: 6pm to 8am = $5.50 Shift Differential

Blue Pearl Specialty + Emergency Pet Hospital, the role of Veterinary Technician is an exciting, fast-paced opportunity that will allow you to utilize the skills that you have worked so hard to gain. We will also give you the chance to expand and grow your skills, all while working alongside some of the most talented veterinary professionals.

As an Emergency Veterinary Technician, you will:

  • Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia in patients and use anesthesia/monitoring equipment.

  • Triage emergency cases as they arrive at the hospital including obtaining vitals such as temperature heart rate, respiratory rate and blood pressure.

  • Perform digital radiography using proper technique including proper positioning of patients.

  • Have a complete understanding of normal ranges of patient vital signs, including but not limited to heartand respiratory rate, temperature, blood pressure and oxygen saturation.

  • Obtain and interpret blood pressure and other vital signs and alert Veterinarian to changes and issues.

  • Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR.

  • Properly calculate medical math (including constant rate infusions) and administer medications via appropriate routes and duration.

  • Are proficient at performing phlebotomy and placing intravenous catheters in all peripheral vessels.

  • Place and maintain feeding tubes and central line catheters.

  • Have a passion for mentoring and training other co-workers.

  • Have patience and empathy to address client concerns.

Our Continuing Education Plan includes $500/year reimbursement for CVT and $750/year for VTS. The Continuing Education allowance can roll over up to $1,500 for CVT and VTS associates. Non-Credentialed, full-time Paraprofessionals are eligible for an annual CE stipend of $150. Full-time CVT associates also receive 8 hours of CE paid hours each year. Full-time VTS associates receive 12 hours of CE paid each year.
