• Develop your own research project in the lab or work on an established project involving rapid evolutionary dynamics in viruses, bacteria, and cancer contexts.
• Write scientific manuscripts describing research findings.

• A PhD in the life sciences, computer science, or applied mathematics. Focus on genetics, genomics, evolutionary biology, or computational biology is preferred.
• Experience with Python, R, or another scripting language. Experience with mathematical modeling and/or the analysis of next‑generation sequencing data is a plus.

The position requires mobility, including the ability to move materials weighing up to several pounds (such as a laptop computer or tablet).

Salary range: $70,000 (minimum) – $80,500 (midpoint) – $91,000 (maximum).

Pay type:

Annual. HHMI’s salary structure is developed based on relevant job market data. Typically a new hire for this position in this location is compensated between the minimum and the midpoint of the salary range.
