Post-Doctoral Research Fellow

Overview

Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center is an independent, nonprofit organization providing adult cancer treatment and groundbreaking research focused on cancer and infectious diseases. Based in Seattle, Fred Hutch is the only National Cancer Institute‑designated cancer center in Washington. The Simeonov Lab is recruiting a highly motivated Post‑Doctoral Research Fellow to join an interdisciplinary team studying cancer evolution, metastasis, and therapy resistance using molecular recorders that log cellular biology directly into DNA.

• Engineer and develop novel molecular recorder systems.
• Design and execute in vitro and in vivo experiments, generating single‑cell sequencing data.
• Analyze recorder outputs and high‑dimensional datasets to study cancer evolution.
• Present and prepare results for publication.

Minimum Qualifications:

• PhD (or equivalent) in biology, bioengineering, computer science, physics, or a related field.
• Strong scientific curiosity, motivation, and rigor.
• Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Molecular/synthetic biology, single‑cell sequencing, or in vivo cancer models.
• Evolving or static barcode‑based lineage tracing.
• Computational analysis of high‑dimensional data (e.g., single‑cell RNA‑seq, phylogenetics, spatial data).
• Experience in R or Python.

The annual base salary range for this position is $80,172 to $95,014, paid based on experience and qualifications. This position is not eligible for H‑1B sponsorship at this time.
