DescriptionFred Hutchinson Cancer Center seeks a faculty member at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level to join the Clinical Biostatistics Program within the Clinical Research Division (CRD).
The Clinical Biostatistics Program currently consists of 6 faculty and 11 statistical research associates (SRAs). It is a highly collaborative and methodologically diverse unit that serves as an essential statistical and scientific partner to investigators across Fred Hutch, the University of Washington, national cooperative groups, and numerous academic and clinical research institutions. Our work reflects extensive engagement across basic, translational, and clinical research programs.
Collectively, the Clinical Biostatistics Program Faculty and SRAs provide expertise spanning clinical trial design and conduct, survival analysis, competing risks methodology, cancer survivorship, transplantation outcomes research, immunotherapy, biomarker development, precision oncology (including master protocols), pragmatic trial design elements, statistical genetics, bioinformatics, machine learning, and the analysis of high-dimensional molecular data.
Successful candidates are expected to engage in collaborative and independent statistical research. Key areas of research that are particularly desirable for this position are: s urvival analysis, competing risks methodology, transplantation outcomes, graft versus host disease, immunotherapy, and clinical trial design (early to mid-phase). Other desirable areas of expertise include cancer survivorship, late effects, infectious complications, cumulative burden of morbidity, longitudinal methods, and genomic/proteomic research.
Faculty are expected to perform their primary activities on-site at Fred Hutch.
The rich biostatistics environment at the center includes over 70 PhD-level biostatisticians (member-track faculty and staff scientists) across the Clinical Research, Public Health Sciences, and Vaccine and Infectious Diseases Divisions. Biostatisticians across the center also engage in collaborative and independent statistical research, including efforts with coordinating and statistical and data management centers for the Women’s Health Initiative, the SWOG Cancer Research Network, the Cancer Screening Research Network, the HIV Vaccine Trials Network, and the HIV Prevention Trials Network.
Fred Hutch is an independent, nonprofit organization providing adult cancer treatment and groundbreaking research focused on cancer and infectious diseases. Based in Seattle, Fred Hutch is the only National Cancer Institute-designated cancer center in Washington.
With a track record of global leadership in bone marrow transplantation, HIV/AIDS prevention, immunotherapy, and COVID-19 vaccines, Fred Hutch has earned a reputation as one of the world’s leading cancer, infectious disease and biomedical research centers. Fred Hutch operates eight clinical care sites that provide medical oncology, infusion, radiation, proton therapy and related services, and network affiliations with hospitals in five states.
Together, our fully integrated research and clinical care teams seek to discover new cures for the world’s deadliest diseases and make life beyond cancer a reality.
At Fred Hutch we value collaboration, compassion, determination, excellence, innovation, integrity and respect. Our mission is directly tied to the humanity, dignity and inherent value of each employee, patient, community member and supporter.
