Position Overview
Assistant Store Manager will support the Store Manager in sales, customer service, store appearance and store operations. They will manage the store during the Store Manager’s absence and/or during opposing shifts. The Assistant Manager will lead the store team members in servicing customers. Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.
CompensationPay Range: $20.76 - $26.00 per hour. The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation includes annual, quarterly performance, or premiums that may be paid in amounts ranging per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.
EssentialJob Functions
- Lead store team members in providing excellent customer service to retail and professional customers.
- Supervise the customer service levels on the retail showroom, including execution of customer service programs such as Related sales, Hi5, Rock the Call, Never Say No, and Rock the Lot.
- Ensure the retail sales counter is adequately staffed, especially during peak retail business hours.
- Assist the store manager in setting team member goals, providing feedback on goal achievement, coaching/mentoring team members, and ensuring team members stay current on their individual training.
- Assist in the hiring process by completing recruiting tasks, scheduling and participating in interviews, evaluating candidates, and collaborating with management to ensure the selection of qualified team members.
- Make sure the telephone is answered according to company policy.
- Ensure all buy online/ship to store, hub and store-to-store transfers, and DC add orders are processed in a timely manner and customers are contacted upon shipment arrivals as needed.
- Utilize the electronic outside purchase order ledger to ensure special orders and outside purchases are handled efficiently and according to procedure.
- Ensure retail customer returns and exchanges are processed efficiently and friendly, refunds are issued accurately using the correct payment methods, and returned merchandise is processed or staged in the returns area correctly.
- Ensure all merchandise, including core charges and warranties, is invoiced before product leaves the store.
- Ensure that Zipline messages are communicated, and Image Maker and merchandising tasks are delegated and completed as assigned.
- Make sure all team members comply with company policies, including adherence to the posted work schedule, approvals for changes/deviations, and correct clock‑in/out.
- Perform all store opening/closing duties, including day‑end procedures, verifying and securing money/deposits, preparing bank deposits, securing the building, arming/disarming security alarms, and locking delivery vehicles.
- Assist the store manager in maintaining the store building, parking lot, exterior signage/lighting, computer hardware, in-store service/test equipment, and delivery vehicles.
- All other duties as assigned.
Required: Sales Specialist Training, Assistant Manager Certification, and RSS Certification.
Desired: Certified Parts Professional Certification; ASE Certification. Fluency in multiple languages (Spanish is highly desired).
