Sales Manager

About Columbia Fire

Columbia Fire has been protecting lives and property in the Seattle market since 2005. We’ve grown to more than 60 employees and are expanding into new markets, but our foundation has stayed the same: trust, high standards, and long‑term partnerships with employees, customers, and communities.

Fire protection isn’t just another construction trade — it’s an industry that offers stability, purpose, and a direct impact on safety. If you want a sales career where you’re not just closing deals but actually protecting people and buildings, this is the place to do it.

The Opportunity

We’re looking for a Fire Sprinkler Sales & Estimator to help us grow our business across the Puget Sound region. This role combines relationship‑building with technical estimating — perfect for someone who enjoys being in front of customers, walking jobsites, and turning opportunities into projects.

You’ll manage the full cycle: identifying opportunities, engaging customers, scoping and pricing projects, and helping deliver solutions that meet code, budget, and customer expectations. This isn’t a desk‑only job — you’ll be out in the field building trust with customers, backed by a team of designers, project managers, and installers who want to see your projects succeed.

What You’ll Do
  • Generate Sales – Identify and pursue new opportunities across service, retrofit, remodel, and new installation projects.
  • Engage Customers – Build strong relationships through face‑to‑face visits, site walks, and ongoing communication.
  • Estimate Projects – Review plans, assess water supply data, determine pipe sizing, and prepare accurate proposals.
  • Deliver Proposals – Present estimates to customers in a clear, compelling way that highlights value and trust.
  • Collaborate Across Teams – Partner with designers, project managers, and installers to ensure projects are scoped and executed seamlessly.
  • Stay Informed – Keep up with industry trends, code requirements, and competitor activity to position Columbia Fire ahead of the curve.
  • Report Progress – Maintain a healthy pipeline, track opportunities in Hub Spot (CRM), and participate in sales meetings.
What We’re Looking For
  • 5+ years of fire protection sales experience required.
  • Ability to read construction drawings, identify coverage requirements, and prepare complete estimates (labor, materials, rentals, permitting, subcontractors, contingencies).
  • Excellent communication skills – comfortable on jobsites and with executives alike.
  • Tech savvy with Microsoft Office; experience with Building Connected and Hub Spot CRM preferred.
  • Customer‑first mindset with proven ability to build long‑term relationships.
  • Valid driver’s license; must be comfortable traveling locally for customer visits and site walks.
  • Willingness to complete post‑offer drug screen and background check.
Compensation
  • Base Pay: $75,000 — $100,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
  • Incentive Pay:
Sales incentive plan based on gross margin % and contract size (details provided in plan document). Incentives are calculated three times per year, with payments scheduled in August, November, and post‑year‑end audit.
Benefits
  • Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance

  • Regence PPO and HSA medical plan options (employee‑only HSA plan fully covered by company).

  • Delta Dental PPO with $2,000 annual max per individual (optional).

  • VSP Choice vision plan (optional).

  • Life & Disability Insurance

  • $20,000 Basic Life & AD&D included with medical plan.

  • Options to purchase additional coverage at employee cost.

  • 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan

  • Safe Harbor plan with employer match up to 3.5%.

  • Paid Time Off & Holidays

  • PTO starting at 10 days per year (accrued weekly).

  • 8 paid holidays annually.

  • Training, certifications, and development opportunities.

Why You’ll Love Working Here
  • You’ll be part of a fast-growing company with opportunities for career advancement.
  • You’ll sell projects that have real purpose — systems that protect lives and property.
  • You’ll work in a team culture built on trust, initiative, and consistency — where your ideas are valued.
  • You’ll get out of the office, building relationships and seeing your work come to life in the field.
