Security Operations Center (SOC) Officer - NON PERMANENT (Program Specialist
2) SHIFT-BASED 24/7 OPERATION | ON-SITE
NOTE:
This is a non-permanent position with the expected duration of 6 months. The hiring authority reserves the right to offer the position at any time after the required posting period, and during the recruitment process. The SOC is a 24/7 operation so all SOC Officers will be assigned to a shift to cover these operations. The incumbent may work nights, weekends, and holidays.
Shift assignments may rotate. The incumbent may be required to support emergency operations during a critical incident, in stressful and fast paced work environment. Additionally, this position is required to work on-site.

About the Opportunity:
As a Security Operations Center (SOC) Officer, you will play a critical role in monitoring surveillance video and serving as the first point of contact for incidents and activities occurring on the Capitol Campus. Working in the Capitol Security Operations Center, you will provide professional security support to law enforcement, state employees, and visitors. You will monitor Genetec CCTV systems, building automation tools, and alarm controls, dispatch emergency and non-emergency calls, and coordinate closely with Washington State Patrol and other security agencies.
You’ll also conduct forensic video reviews, support campus events, manage incident reports and shift logs, and help ensure the safety, confidentiality, and security of the campus in alignment with state policies and standards.
