Seattle Public Utilities (SPU) is recruiting one (1) Senior Pump Station Electrical Technician in the Water Line of Business. This position will lead and perform senior level work and provide direction to Pump Station Electrical Technicians in supporting the operation and maintenance activities at the Tolt Treatment Plant in Duvall, WA. This position is crucial to plant operations, maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and outages which produce approximately 40% of our region’s drinking water supply.
The plant operates and produces treated high quality drinking water around the clock.

- Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnostics, repairs, installations, and ensure back up power is reliable for outages.
- Work on complex electric, electronic, electro‑hydraulic, electro‑mechanical, and electro‑pneumatic systems.
- Install sensors and transducers; respond to electrical system failures.
- Servicing and repairing electrical pump station equipment including motors, starters, controls, recorders, and related devices in routine and emergency situations.
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical equipment and conduit systems.
- Review, maintain, and update plans, wiring diagrams, prints and schematics.
- Support Electrical Engineers in project implementation and development.
- Apply hands on repairs, understand and use a wide variety of electrical testing equipment.

QualificationsExperience: Completion of an accredited electrician apprenticeship program and four (4) years journey‑level electronic experience, including experience with remote control and telemetry circuits. (Combinations of education, training and experience will be evaluated on an individual basis for comparability).
Work Environment / Physical Demands- Works outdoors in all weather conditions, at times exposed to unsanitary live sewage, hazardous and foul fumes, high noise levels from pumps and generators, and potential electrical hazards.
- Subject to be on‑call 24 hours to respond to emergency situations.
- May lift objects weighing in excess of 50 pounds.
Washington State driver’s license or evidence of equivalent mobility.
