Responsibilities- Communicate with customers effectively and professionally.
- Read a mainframe/cross‑connect/control point layout to run jumpers.
- Read, understand and follow instructions on dispatched jobs, trouble tickets, project prints, throw and sequence sheets and associated record updates.
- Utilize test equipment and interpret test results for all work streams.
- Use necessary computer skills and Android platform mobile device application usage.
- Perform basic electrical work and basic transmission of xDSL installation.
- Complete requirements for each unit and configure customer‑owned computers.
- Connect fiber optic jumpers and drops (aerial, buried, and plenum).
- Educate customers in internet access.
- Experience in telephone service (VOIP or Copper, as appropriate).
- Experience with routers and home networking.
- Use test sets as required.
- Perform general computer skills and installation work that may include running or reusing COAX or CAT 5 wiring, utilizing MOCA or Wi‑Fi technology, installing aerial drop, internet hubs and routers, installing ONT and power supplies, knowing COAX cable sizes and types and installing connectors, and working with fiber and copper facilities.
- Follow ladder safety, OSHA safety requirements, pole climbing, splicing of fiber drop connectors, and station installation and repair.
- Maintain technical understanding of loss, attenuation, and tiling, the telephony color code, and verify service.
- Work zone requirements and knowledge of workforce management system including Mobile Tech Portal and associated task clearing codes.
- Drive and ability to work well with others to achieve common goals and to foster a cooperative climate, as well as work independently in the field with little supervision.
- Own vehicle and tools required.
