Position Overview
Siemens Mobility is GROWING in Seattle! We are seeking a Field Service Technician to support the commissioning and troubleshooting of our new diesel Aero trainset. The Field Service Technician provides engineering advice to the Amtrak maintenance workforce in order to improve equipment reliability of the Siemens Amtrak Fleet. This includes advice on routine maintenance, restoration and resolution to equipment failures, semi-complex equipment installation, and modifications and repairs.
This is an onsite daylight position. The work week may include a weekend day.
Day-to-day responsibilities
- Commission and support warranty operations for locomotives and coaches
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical issues
- Use diagnostic software and laptops for system assessments
- Interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, and circuit plans
- Document failures, repairs, and modifications
- Implement Field Modifications (FMIs) to improve quality
- Foster a safety-first zero-harm culture and speak up when necessary
- Interact with leadership as needed on all site issues, systems, and related facility operations
Qualifications
- High School Diploma / GED
- Experience troubleshooting electrical (AC and DC circuits), mechanical, and pneumatic systems
- Experience interpreting electrical and pneumatic schematics and drawings
- Ability to read and understand schematics, maintenance, repair, and FMI documents
- Well-demonstrated interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team
- Basic computer skills and Microsoft Office proficiency
- Willingness to work various shifts and days off, including weekend days
- Ability to work independently and without much supervision
- Valid driver’s license in good standing
- Ability to work safely, report hazards, and recognize risks
- Ability to travel for training – approximately 10% (including up to 3 months in person training in Philadelphia, PA)
- Setting you apart: AA or BA/BS in Electrical, Electrical Automation, or Industrial Maintenance with background in rolling‑stock maintenance and commissioning or other rail‑related experience. SAP is a plus

Pay Range $71,604.00 – $96,798.00
