Location: Snoqualmie, WA

Salary: $5,011.00 – $5,812.00 Monthly. The salary does not include an additional 5% premium pay for employees working in King County or an on-site 24/7 facility 5% premium.

Schedule: 4/10 work week (Wednesday-Saturday)

The Opportunity

In this role, you'll perform skilled work related to facility operations, maintenance, repair, and construction. This includes taking care of the buildings, machinery, and equipment, as well as working on the grounds. The ideal candidate will have experience in several areas, including plumbing, electrical work, welding, carpentry, and machining. This is a role that requires independence and self-direction, and we welcome those who are skilled at fixing things and have a knack for basic construction to apply and join our strong team environment at DCYF.

of what you'll do
  • Perform Journey level work related to maintenance, repair, remodeling, construction, and renovation work.
  • Install, maintain, modify, alter, and repair plumbing systems.
  • Install, maintain, and repair pipes, storm sewers, septic tanks, sewage mains, and lateral, valves, drains, basins, tubs, faucets, lavatories, sinks, hydrants, water coolers, heating systems, and dishwashers.
  • Conducts other preventative and corrective maintenance to plumbing systems.
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, and other shop equipment.
  • Plan, schedule, and estimate time and materials needed to complete jobs.
  • Performs building and condition assessments.
  • Inspect water mains, fixtures, sewer lines, valves, and septic tanks.
  • Conduct regular inspections and record findings.
  • Clean and maintain power and hand tools.
  • Perform basic arithmetic and mathematical calculations.
  • Keep work areas clean and up to regulatory standards.
  • Instruct staff and youth in the use and care of facility equipment.
  • Comply with all L&I and Health and Safety standards.
Required Qualifications

Four years of general work experience in building and equipment maintenance, construction or repair work, or completion of a recognized apprenticeship in a skilled mechanic trade.
OR an equivalent combination of education/experience.

AND
  • The ability to take action to learn and grow.
  • The ability to take action to meet the needs of others.
In addition to those required qualifications, our ideal applicant will also have some or all of the following:
  • Experience in facility maintenance, including operating a variety of hand and power tools.
  • Experience providing preventative maintenance and repairs on mechanical equipment.
  • Experience performing maintenance, operation, and repair of electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Experience performing maintenance and repairs of plumbing issues.
  • Experience performing locksmith activities.
