Salary range: $54,432 – $71,388 per year.
Position SummaryUnder the supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor, the Maintenance Mechanic 2 will perform a variety of skilled work in the operation, maintenance, repair, remodeling, and construction of buildings, machinery, systems, and equipment. The position also assists HVAC technicians and requires general knowledge of plumbing, electrical, welding, carpentry, and machinist work.
ScheduleMonday through Friday, 8:00 AM‑5:00 PM (may vary; evenings and weekends may be required).
Employment TypeFull-time.
Essential Functions- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on electrical, mechanical, HVAC, and structural systems.
- Install new HVAC systems or components.
- Monitor safety, fire protection, and environmental control equipment.
- Collaborate with other maintenance personnel on projects.
- Assist in developing preliminary cost estimates.
- Operate hand and power tools, perform welding and fabrication.
- Remodel and construct facilities per project requirements.
- Repair windows, doors, screens, floors, and surfaces.
- Maintain and repair electrical connections and equipment.
- Adhere to safety protocols and wear protective equipment.
- May operate service vehicles and heavy equipment.
- Attend meetings and training sessions.
- Assist other facilities departments as needed.
- Train students/helpers in other skilled trade areas.
- Assume lead duties when required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications- Four or more years of general experience in building and equipment maintenance, construction, or repair work, or completion of a recognized apprenticeship in a skilled mechanic trade.
- Possession of a valid motor vehicle operator's license may be required.
Ability to perform range of physical motions, exerting up to 50 pounds; lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds; standing, walking, sitting for long periods, kneeling, squatting, stooping, and traversing stairs.
