Location: Jefferson Day Center (420 4th Ave, Seattle, WA 98104)
Schedule: Wednesday–Saturday, 6:30 am–5:00 pm
Pay: $25.05 /hour
Status: Regular Full‑Time/Non‑Exempt
Applicants must be available for in‑person interviews in Seattle, WA.
Duties & Responsibilities- Respond to crisis and inquiry telephone calls by providing support, information, and referrals to other appropriate social services.
- Provide assistance to residents to ensure a safe environment, including compliance with rules.
- Conduct periodic walking inspections of all facility areas, identifying and initiating appropriate action for hazards, inappropriate behavior, needed repairs, or other notable conditions.
- Respond to emergency situations, making independent decisions within policy guidelines.
- Provide crisis intervention and institute security procedures for a critical or threatening situation, and timely notify police, fire, EMS and supervisory authorities.
- Conduct client intakes and departure processes as required by department policy.
- Provide orientation, support, and supervision to staff, volunteers, and new hires.
- Assist with the orientation and training of new staff, volunteers.
- Collaborate with other Salvation Army staff.
- Represent Salvation Army programs to community agencies and representatives in a respectful, positive manner.
- Participate in staff meetings.
- Maintain case records and required forms and reports in prescribed formats.
- Comply with Salvation Army procedural requirements, including the Policy & Procedure Manual and Employee Handbook.
- Prepare water, coffee, snacks for guests when needed.
- General cleaning (mopping, sweeping, wiping down) of facility bathrooms, sleeping area, and common areas as assigned.
- Work with janitorial staff as assigned.
- Perform other duties as requested.
- HS Diploma or GED.
- Minimum 6 months experience in public contact/customer service.
- Experience in social service shelter/residential preferred.
- WA Driver’s License preferred.

Paid Vacation:
- Two weeks annually (non‑exempt), accruing from day one.
- Four weeks annually (exempt), accruing from day one.
- Accrued vacation is eligible for use after six months of service time.
Paid Holidays: 13 designated holidays + 1 floating holiday per year.
