An on‑call Counselor III – Recovery Services (On‑Call) provides as‑needed advanced counseling and case management services to support continuity of care within Recovery Services. This senior‑level role ensures high‑quality, culturally humble, and trauma‑informed care for Asian and Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander communities while serving individuals from diverse backgrounds. Key responsibilities include clinical coverage, crisis response, team support, and maintaining program standards.
Responsibilities- Provide integrated and holistic services to clients based on recovery principles, complying with state, county, and city standards.
- Coordinate with agencies, organizations, and natural supports on client evaluation, care plans, and follow‑up to meet state and agency requirements.
- Prepare concise, complete progress notes and program documentation required by Medicaid and other third‑party payors in a timely manner.
- Participate in agency‑required trainings and meetings.
- Assist with clinical questions when the manager/supervisor is unavailable, and provide coaching/guidance to staff per agency policies.
- Serve as supervisory coverage in the absence of the supervisor and direct personnel‑related inquiries to HR.
- Offer team backup for case coverage and group facilitation when staff are out of the office, and assist with training new staff or interns.
- Hourly pay: $35.95 to $39.99, with potential increases after 6 months.

- Education and Experience
:- Master’s degree in social work or social/behavioral science with 2+ years post‑SUDP experience, or
- Bachelor’s degree with 4+ years post‑SUDP experience, or
- Associate’s degree with 6+ years post‑SUDP experience.
- Active Substance Use Disorder Professional (SUDP) certification.
- Cultural Humility
:- Provide effective and respectful care responsive to diverse cultural beliefs and practices.
- Fluency in Asian and Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander language.
- Knowledge and Skills
:- Work effectively as a team member and apply casework principles; manage multiple tasks with sound judgment.
- Advanced understanding of trauma‑informed care and evidence‑based practices in substance use disorder treatment.
- Proficiency in ASAM, DSM‑5, ICD‑10 for diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Strong understanding of agency policy and procedure compliance.
- Technical Skills
:- Competent use of Microsoft Office, calendaring, e‑mail, and data entry; efficient internet research skills.
- Additional Requirements
:- Reliable transportation and current driver’s license; vehicle must be insurable under agency auto policy.
- Follow all agency policies as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
Regular mobility within the office, occasional lifting up to 20 pounds, and moderate noise level. On‑site only.
