Gradial is a Seattle-based startup enabling digital experiences at the speed of thought. We empower marketers and creatives to implement their ideas directly, with software that adapts over time. Our platform automates website and design system updates, large‑scale migrations to new design systems, and continuous content optimization while adhering to company and product brands.

Backed by world‑class investors, we’re looking to scale our platform and expand our team. At Gradial, we operate with extreme ownership, bias toward action and critical path planning. We tackle problems from first principles, question assumptions, and find creative solutions. If you want to take risks and work on groundbreaking technology, Gradial is where you belong.

Role Overview

As a Product Engineer at Gradial, you’ll own the creation of intuitive, delightful experiences across our AI‑powered platform. You’ll collaborate closely with the Product team, Engineers, and AI Researchers to conceptualize, develop, and refine exceptional interfaces that are visually compelling, accessible, and highly responsive.

We believe seamless, intuitive user experiences are essential to making AI powerful yet approachable. You’ll play a critical role in shaping our product experience, driving implementation decisions, prototyping innovative interactions, and establishing best practices across our applications.

Responsibilities
  • Own the development and implementation of high‑quality, interactive UI components from concept to delivery.
  • Collaborate closely with design and engineering to iterate on user experiences, ensuring accessibility, performance, and usability best.
  • Help define and evolve a scalable design system that maintains consistency across Gradial’s product suite.
  • Advocate for user‑focused solutions, conduct usability tests, and leverage user feedback to continuously improve product experiences.
  • Coordinate with backend engineers in defining APIs and data structures that enable cohesive and seamless user interactions.
  • Stay informed of emerging UI/UX methodologies, technologies, and trends to enhance our platform and keep Gradial at the forefront of user experience innovation.
Requirements
  • 3+ years of experience in product engineering, front‑end development, or a related role.
  • Proficiency in modern front‑end technologies, including Type Script, React, and Next.js.
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating your ability to build interactive and user‑friendly web applications.
  • Experience working with design systems, component libraries, and scalable UI architectures.
  • Obsessive attention to detail in user experiences.
  • A deep understanding of web performance optimization, accessibility standards (WCAG), and responsive design principles.
Compensation

The base salary range for this position is $120,000 – $170,000 annually. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, skills, and qualifications. In addition base salary, this role may be eligible for performance‑based bonuses and equity awards. Gradial offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental & vision insurance, 401(k) retirement plan, paid time off, paid sick leave and other employee wellness programs.

  • Embrace AI as a core tool for problem‑solving, creativity and scale.
  • Show a strong work ethic, high ownership and bias toward action.
  • Communicate clearly, directly and with curiosity.
  • Thrive in fast‑paced, hyper‑growth environments where building better > maintaining status quo.
AI Literacy & Interviewing Tools

As an AI‑first company, we prioritize AI literacy as a core competency in our hiring decisions. We’re excited by candidates who thoughtfully apply AI tools in their work, but during interviews we’re focused on you. This is your opportunity to show how you think, communicate, and solve problems. Over‑reliance on AI‑generated responses during the interview process (especially when it obscures your own voice) will result in disqualification.

We want to understand your unique perspective and how you approach challenges, both with and without AI.
