We are seeking a senior software engineer to help build the next generation compute imaging platform powering OCI’s services. Our team is responsible for the delivery of hardened, secure, and compliant images and tooling, spanning all systems and teams across the organization. We are a fast-moving team that leverages new technologies to improve the stability, reliability, and performance of the cloud platform.

As a Principal Member of Technical Staff, you will use your software engineering and systems skills to further automate and enhance the build, test, customization, and delivery of compute images and associated tools and services at a global scale. The ideal candidate will drive design and delivery of new features, operational excellence, and raise the bar for engineering and ops practices.

• Design and develop software solutions to support imaging pipeline and tooling
• Write and maintain documentation for systems, processes, and solutions
• Participate in design and code reviews
• Proactively suggest and implement service improvements
• Participate in on‑call rotation to support the team’s services and resolve issues within defined SLA

• BS or MS degree in Computer Science or a relevant technical field involving coding, or equivalent practical experience
• 5+ years of software development experience
• 2+ years of experience with Linux system administration and configuration
• Proficiency in two or more of the following languages:
  Java, Python, Golang, shell scripting
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

• Familiarity with Linux security hardening and compliance frameworks such as PCI DSS, CIS, FedRAMP, and NIST in software systems
• Experience delivering server configuration management at scale
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines

US:
Hiring range in USD from $96,800 to $223,400 per year. Eligibility for bonus and equity is also possible.
