We are deeply committed to well‑being and privacy and are looking for an Android Engineer to join our Safety Engineering Mobile and Core (SEMC) team. The team protects mobile clients and builds core security features, improving trust across Snapchat.

• Push the limits of mobile devices and build great user experiences.
• Build smooth, stable, and fun products.
• Develop features from design through implementation and launch.
• Evaluate technical tradeoffs of every decision and work with design on the best UI and infrastructure practices.
• Perform code reviews that guarantee code quality.

• Proficiency in Kotlin, Java, RxJava, Dagger, and related tools.
• Capable of prioritizing duties and working independently.

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical field or equivalent practical work experience.
• 2+ years post‑Bachelor software development experience, or Master’s degree with 1+ year experience, or PhD in a related field.
• Experience with Android application development.

• Experience in large‑scale customer‑facing mobile applications.
• Experience writing cross‑platform code (JavaScript, Type Script, C++).
• Exposure to or experience building microservices.
• Interest in security.

In the United States, work locations are assigned a pay zone which determines the salary range for the position. The starting pay will be determined based on job‑related skills, experience, qualifications, location, and market conditions. Pay zones may be modified in the future.

Zone A (CA, WA, NYC):
Base salary range $157,000‑$235,000 annually.

Zone B:
Base salary range $149,000‑$223,000 annually.

Zone C:
Base salary range $133,000‑$200,000 annually.

This position is eligible for equity in the form of RSUs.

Mid‑Senior level.
