Software Engineer, Flight + Plan at Quindar
Quindar builds modern, cloud-native satellite mission operations software with a simple mission: to operate satellites like servers. Our platform replaces fragmented, legacy ground systems with an integrated, automation-driven approach that brings modern software velocity to space operations.
We're a small, fast-moving team with deep aerospace and software roots, energized by big challenges and motivated by the impact we have on real missions in this next chapter of the Space Age. If you want to work with sharp, ambitious people who push boundaries, move quickly, and are excited to take space operations to the next level, Quindar is the place to do it.
What You’ll Be Doing 👨💻👩💻🛰️As a Software Engineer on the Flight + Plan team, you will build and integrate a scalable software framework that powers complex satellite modeling, mission planning, and operational algorithms. You’ll work across Python and Java to design, implement, and validate high-performance systems capable of running critical workflows in production environments.
You’ll collaborate closely with both software and aerospace engineers to bridge domain knowledge with robust engineering practices. While you don’t need to be a satellite expert, experience working with physics-based or mathematical models will be extremely valuable as you help build tooling that will scale to hundreds—and eventually thousands—of satellites.
You will also help develop APIs and integrate backend services with cloud infrastructure, ensuring that solutions are architected with scalability, cost-efficiency, resilience, and security in mind. You’ll work cross-functionally with satellite operators, frontend engineers, and product managers to translate real operational needs into reliable backend capabilities.
This role is highly collaborative, hands-on, and central to the evolution of Quindar’s mission planning and flight engineering products. You will build software primarily for the backend, but with an understanding of how your work connects to our user-facing interfaces and operator workflows.
You’ll join a highly iterative and agile engineering environment—one where your technical ownership helps shape the next major (and minor!) versions of Quindar.
