This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.

Join Blue Origin’s Operations Application Development team as a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer and lead the development of software that supports how we build and test spaceflight hardware. This role requires extensive hands-on AWS experience and deep expertise in Terraform for infrastructure as code. We create full stack applications and automations for Material Planning, Production Control, Manufacturing, Quality, Safety, and Test Operations.

Our goal is to use technology to help Blue Origin manufacture the future of space at an accelerated rate.

Our work includes event driven actions triggered by engineering updates to parts, material requirements planning (MRP) automation and the Material Planning Hub, and an Out of Tolerance tool that helps Quality review measurements associated with tools found to be out of tolerance and create non-conformances.

You will drive large scale engineering projects from design through production, contribute across the full stack, and mentor junior engineers. Our frontend primarily uses Type Script and React with Vite, with some applications using Next.js. As we transition scheduled jobs to event driven workflows and evolve a legacy monolith into microservices using AWS Lambda, you will help shape the architecture and make practical decisions about reliability, performance, and maintainability.

Agentic coding is a core part of this role. You will use tools such as Codex and Claude Code extensively in daily development and help advance how the team uses coding agents to deliver software.

Responsibilities
· Lead large scale software projects from requirements and system design through implementation, rollout, and production support, coordinating technical work and dependencies across teams.
· Use agentic coding tools such as Codex and Claude Code extensively to implement features, refactor services, write tests, and troubleshoot issues, while reviewing and validating the resulting code.
· Advance the team’s agentic coding practices by developing reusable workflows, evaluating tools, and coaching engineers on how to use coding agents effectively.
· Design event driven workflows that replace scheduled jobs, and guide the incremental migration of a legacy monolith to microservices using AWS Lambda.
· Write, edit, and review Terraform configurations to provision and manage AWS infrastructure.
· Build and maintain full stack applications using Type Script, Java, and C#, including React interfaces, backend services, APIs, and data integrations.
· Apply systems thinking to service boundaries, data flows, and failure modes; account for retries, idempotency, and consistency in distributed workflows.
· Partner with operations stakeholders to understand manufacturing workflows and turn business needs into usable applications and reliable automations.
· Design and integrate REST APIs and database schemas that support operational applications.
· Mentor and develop junior engineers through pairing, code and design reviews, regular feedback, and opportunities to take on greater technical ownership.
