In this role, you will work with senior engineers to design and implement systems that orchestrate thousands of databases. You will build a foundational platform consisting of web service APIs and workflows that make Aurora highly available, scalable, reliable, and fast. This rare opportunity will shape the product direction and database technology.
Key Responsibilities- Own the design and development of significant system software components critical to cloud‑based database services.
- Architect, design, and implement highly scalable distributed database systems that provide availability, reliability, and performance guarantees.
- Build rock‑solid components and maintain high quality code.
- Mentor other engineers and contribute to the team’s technical excellence.
- 3+ years of non‑internship professional software development experience.
- 2+ years of non‑internship design or architecture experience for new and existing systems.
- 1+ year of software development engineering or related occupational experience.
- 1+ year of designing and developing large‑scale, multi‑tiered, multi‑threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using C#, C++, Java, or Perl.
- 1+ year of object‑oriented design experience.
- Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language.
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent.
