Job Summary
The City of Bellevue is seeking Swim Instructors to work at the Bellevue Aquatic Center. This position offers flexible hours in a fun and friendly work environment with a chance to help students of all ages and backgrounds gain confidence in the water and develop life‑saving skills. The role involves both group and private lesson instruction and focuses on a team‑oriented approach that ensures everyone feels valued and supported.
HoursMorning, afternoon, evenings, and weekends.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Provide swim instruction in both group and private lesson formats to various age groups.

- Flexible work hours to accommodate schedules.
- Must be at least 15 years old.
- Must have an active lifeguard certification.
- Preferred to have and maintain current American Red Cross Lifeguard certification.
- Must have excellent communication skills and be comfortable working with patrons in the water.
- Candidate must pass a criminal background check prior to being hired.
- Work involves walking, talking, and hearing.
- The employee may be required to push, pull, lift, and/or carry up to 20 pounds.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually high.
- The ability to swim 300 yards without stopping.
- The ability to submerge to a depth of 13 feet.
The Bellevue Aquatic Center is offering an American Red Cross Lifeguard certification course. Program offers certification in lifeguard training, first aid, and CPR for the professional rescuer. Classes will be blended learning, with online content sent one week in advance for completion before the test portion of the class. More information.

This is a Variable, non‑exempt, non‑union position. - Average weekly hours cannot be determined at date of hire.
- Hours may vary from week to week and are anticipated to be 28 hours per week or less.
