Job Summary

The Senior Supervisor Ramp Services is responsible for managing, coordinating, and controlling airport activities for both ramp services and passenger service functions. Duties include monitoring the quantity and quality of work performance; directing personnel within assigned functional area; overseeing staffing requirements; and participating in discipline, coaching, counseling, hiring, and termination of subordinates. The role ensures compliance with company rules, standards, contractual agreements, budgetary controls, security, and TSA legislation.

The supervisor communicates with airport board officials and customers, monitors employee performance, and administers fair and equitable practices.

Ramp Service Functions
  • Loading and unloading of cargo, mail, express, baggage, freight, and company material on and off aircraft.
  • Transporting cargo between terminals and aircraft, including ramp transfers.
  • Receiving, delivering, and physically handling freight and company material, and export at designated docks.
  • Cleaning and servicing cabin interiors, cockpit and lavatories; draining lavatories; handling cabin furnishings.
  • Assisting with loading, unloading and racking drums.
  • De‑ice aircraft, clean aircraft windshields, push‑out/tow aircraft, and related guide‑man functions; connect/remove ground power and ground start units.
  • Cleaning exterior of aircraft with specialized cleaning fluids and routine cleaning of work areas, ramps, and facilities.
  • Monitoring facility security and performing routine automotive repair and servicing of equipment.
Responsibilities
  • Perform all aspects of airport operations, including ticketing transactions, baggage check‑in, issuing boarding passes, and dispatching flights safely and timely.
  • Manage baggage service functions, including filing loss, damage, and pilferage claims.
  • Provide efficient and professional customer service and resolve passenger problems as required.
  • Coordinate with all departments to ensure operational needs are met.
  • Act as company representative when assigned.
  • Report to work on a regular and timely basis.
  • Read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Perform basic mathematical calculations and interpret rate, percent, bar graphs.
  • Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Interpret extensive technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form.
Minimum Requirements
  • Associate's degree (AA) or equivalent from a two‑year college or technical school; six months to one year of related experience and/or training.
  • Read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
  • Must be able to work weekends (Friday, Saturday, Sunday), holidays, and days off.
Preferred Skills
  • Fluently read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Cognitive skills to set priorities and use independent judgment.
  • Ability to handle stress and work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
