Pelican Landing is looking for a Concierge to join their team. The Concierge is the initial point of contact for potential residents, families, vendors, and the community, either in person or via phone. The Concierge is responsible for being professional, polite, and ensuring all guests have a pleasant first experience with the community.
The Concierge serves visitors by greeting, welcoming, and directing them appropriately, notifying team members of visitor arrival, and maintaining security and telecommunications systems within the community.
Essential Job Functions- Maintains a professional personal presentation.
- Welcomes visitors by greeting them in person or on the telephone; answers or refers inquiries.
- Answers the phone within 3 rings; determines nature of call to either relay information or route call as appropriate.
- Takes detailed messages with name, date, time, and return phone number.
- Ensures team members receive their phone messages promptly.
- Maintains knowledge of who is available to receive an inquiry or host a tour.
- Maintains security by following procedures, monitoring log books to include visitor sign in and sign out.
- Maintains safe and clean reception, lobby and welcome room areas by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Receives and sorts mail for Leadership Team.
- Maintains yearly transportation book for resident’s doctor appointments as necessary.
- Communicates with driver at least 24 hours in advance regarding resident appointment dates and times.
- Reports all accidents and incidents as soon as possible to supervisor, no matter how minor.
- Maintains confidentiality of residents’ personal care information.
- Honors residents’ personal and property rights.
- Must be in company uniform and ready for resident duties at all times.
- Knowledge of computers and relevant software applications including Microsoft Office and Outlook.
- Effective communication with all levels of management, team members, residents, family members, vendors, referral sources, and outside contacts.
- Independent decision-making ability.
- Warm, friendly, and caring communication style.
- Passion for working with and around senior citizens.
- Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures.
- Knowledge of customer service principles and practices.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Two (2) years of Concierge/Front Desk Receptionist experience in a customer service-oriented industry.
- Able to sit 75% of the day.
- Able to concentrate with frequent interruptions.
- Able to work under stress and in emergency situations.
- Able to perform tasks requiring sitting, standing, walking, reaching, pulling, pushing, and grasping.
- Able to talk and hear effectively to convey messages, instructions, and information to residents and team members.
- Occasional lifting/carrying up to 50 pounds.
- Work in all areas of the community.
- Subject to reactions from dust, disinfectants, cleaning chemicals, and may be exposed to infectious waste, diseases, and other conditions.
- Requires use of personal protective equipment and supplies to prevent burns, falls, and infections; follows safety policies and procedures.
- Requirements for PPE include infection control kit, rubber gloves, and non-slip shoes.
- Subject to infectious diseases, substances, and odors.
- Adheres to Safety Policy & Procedure.
