Develops retail and commercial business, including deposit accounts, commercial and consumer loans, residential mortgages, cash management, investments, and merchant services. Acts as overall sales manager for the branch and delegates responsibilities and work assignments as required.
MajorDuties & Responsibilities
- Ensures staff provides an engaging and competent atmosphere for all clients, partners, and prospects.
- Manages sales process. Generates and pursues sales leads by calling on prospects, working with a line of business partners, and managing an existing branch deposit client base.
- Creates and leads branch sales and promotional efforts in order to reach performance goals. Develops branch sales strategic plan.
- Develop retail and commercial business. Makes business development calls on prospective small business and retail customers. Establishes and maintains relationships with centers of influence and other professionals in the community.
- Meets with customers to discuss business needs and recommend ways in which the bank can serve those needs. Recommends commercial loans, merchant, and cash management as appropriate.
- Leads branch operations and planning. Conducts regular operational and management meetings with branch staff to answer questions, exchange information, and resolve problems.
- Meets regularly with Bank management to coordinate sales and promotional strategies and programs. Attends company meetings and communicates information to the branch.
- Adheres to Bank policies and procedures and performs functions in compliance with all rules and regulations. Updates security and regulatory information through regular training.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to work varying hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Complies with all regulations that apply within the scope of the position, including BSA, AML, OFAC and CIP.
- Participates in community events and organizations to keep with the “Team Marine” philosophy and image.
- Support and live the bank’s core values and coach staff to do the same.
- Bachelor’s Degree or other training or certification in the area of finance and/or banking preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in financial institution operating policies and procedures, banking regulations, employee development, and public relations required.
- Minimum 2-4 years of supervisory experience required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Assertive and persuasive communication style and proven management, sales, organization, and computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Outlook.
Sales
- Coaches and provides advice and direction regarding the sales efforts of branch employees.
- Hold weekly team meetings and huddles.
- Performs processing and transaction activities as necessary.
- Identifies customer needs and sells financial products and services to consumer and small business customers.
- Proactively prospect for new business.
- Proactively engage existing client base to expand relationships.
- Actively refer loans, cash management, investments, and merchant services to appropriate financial institution specialists.
- Proactively build partnerships with lines of business and coach staff to build relationships with other lines of business, including internal and external representatives.
- Enroll, sets-up, and service online banking account access.
- Meet and exceed sales goals.
- Ensure a positive experience for all clients, peers, and direct staff.
- Covers teller line and new accounts as needed.
- Processes wires.
- May provide notary services.
- Administer safe box access.
- Open and close office by following established security procedures.
- Provide and oversee a professional branch environment with attention to facility appearance as well as employee conduct and dress.
