The Hospital Sanitation Specialist is responsible for the removal and transport of all recycling and waste which includes solid waste, regulated medical waste, universal waste, pharmaceutical, and RCRA/hazardous waste.

• You will be familiar with and adhere to policies related to storage, handling, and disposal of RMW (regulated medical waste), RCRA/Hazmat, solid waste, and universal waste.
• You will maintain your Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). Hazardous Waste training.
• You will clean waste holding and storage areas regularly.
• You will deliver clean linen to appropriate locations and remove soiled linens as needed.
• You will also help with the cleaning and preparing rooms before and after patients are discharged from the hospital.
• You will be familiar with safety and sanitation requirements of a healthcare facility.
• You will appropriately utilize various supplies and resources to maintain a clean environment for all staff, patients, and visitors within the hospital.
• You will store, handle, and dispose of materials and supplies used to perform your duties within the hospital and industry standards. This could include Hazmat, solid waste, and soiled linens.
• You will interact with patients, families, visitors, and other hospital staff as you perform your duties.

• High School Graduate or Equivalent preferred
• Experience in a healthcare setting highly preferred
• At least 1 year of professional housekeeping or janitor experience preferred
