• Receives soiled and contaminated instruments or equipment from surgery, anesthesia, and nursing units.
• Prepares, cleans, and disinfects instruments and equipment appropriately.
• Inspects all instruments and equipment for damages, malfunction, or unacceptable condition.
• Prepares instruments and equipment for sterilization by verifying correct items and quantities.
• Assures proper sterilization procedures are performed and the effectiveness of the sterilizing process.

Associate, High School Grad or Equiv (Required), Technical/Vocational School, Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) - RQI Resuscitation Quality Improvement, Certified Registered Central Service Tech (CRCST) - EV Accredited Issuing Body, Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) - EV Accredited Issuing Body
