Bakery Associate

Assists in the daily operations of the bakery department, increasing customer confidence and loyalty by promoting and executing consistent and compliant operating conditions. Provides fresh and appealing products with courteous, knowledgeable and prompt service.

• Service (60%):
  Creates an environment that welcomes and appreciates customers, delivers daily conditions that meet company expectations for product availability, freshness, quality and value, offers product samples, answers product questions, and ensures customer requests and special orders are fulfilled.
• Leadership (20%):
  Promotes trust and respect among associates, fosters teamwork, communicates company and department information, and adheres to all applicable laws and company guidelines.
• Financial (10%):
  Maintains awareness of inventory and stocking conditions, reports discrepancies, inspects products for quality and freshness, prepares, packages, labels and displays products for sale, and ensures proper temperature control and documentation of temperature logs.
• Compliance / Safety (10%):
  Upholds safety, food‑handling practices, sanitation and productivity standards, complies with regulatory requirements (USDA, COOL, DOA), executes product recalls and withdrawals, inspects for unsafe conditions, reports incidents, and ensures safe working conditions and proper use of protective equipment.
• Performs other job‑related duties as assigned.

• Must be 18 years of age and authorized to work in the United States or able to obtain such authorization.
• Successful completion of pre‑employment drug testing and background check.
• Strong customer service skills with exceptional interpersonal, motivational and communication abilities.
• Experience operating bakery equipment (e.g., slicer, oven, scale, knives, box cutter, pricing gun) according to company guidelines.
• 0‑3 years of relevant experience (minimum supervisory experience).
• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• English required;
  Spanish preferred.
