the Role
We are seeking a Senior Urban Planner to join our dynamic team in Riyadh. As a key member of our urban development department, you will be deeply involved in the design and coordination of masterplans at multiple scales, through innovative and sustainable urban planning initiatives.
- Lead and manage complex urban planning projects from conception to implementation
- Develop comprehensive land use plans, zoning regulations, and urban design guidelines
- Conduct in-depth analysis of demographic, economic, and environmental data to inform planning decisions
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including architects, engineers, and environmental specialists
- Prepare and present detailed reports and recommendations to stakeholders, including government officials
- Integrate sustainable and smart city concepts into urban development strategies
- Mentor junior planners and contribute to the overall growth of the planning team
- Stay current with emerging trends and best practices in urban planning and sustainable development
- Master's degree in Urban Planning, Urban Design, or a closely related field
- Professional certification is preferred
- 7-10 years of progressive experience in urban planning, with a focus on large-scale urban development projects
- Proficiency in CAD and Adobe applications is required, while experience or familiarity with Revit and GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS) will be considered an advantage.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent data analysis and visualization capabilities
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in English;
Spanish language proficiency is highly desirable - In-depth knowledge of Saudi Arabia’s urban planning regulations and policies will be considered an advantage.
- Demonstrated experience in sustainable urban design and smart city concepts
- Proven track record of successful collaboration with diverse stakeholders
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Ability to think strategically and develop visionary urban planning solutions
