National - Indirect Excise Tax Manager - Open Location FY23. Our National Tax and EY EDGE practice provides specialized tax technical services to US and global clients. • Lead compliance support to the engagement team, supervising and evaluating assigned seniors and analysts and their work product.
• Communicate with clients, provide tax technical recommendations and resolve engagement issues.
• Participate in day-to-day client engagements, delivering a quality work product and driving on-time service delivery.
• Develop quality tax planning approaches with timely and responsive services that meet/exceed client expectations.
• Identify opportunities for excise tax compliance, planning and other special services.
• Prepare practical approaches to tax situations and arrive at appropriate conclusions.
• Develop recommendations and implementation plans; make informed decisions in complex areas.
• Stay current on trends, developments and legislation affecting clients; research advanced tax issues and provide practical solutions.
• Coach and develop junior staff; review work of team members.

• Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree (Accounting, Business, Finance or equivalent preferred).
• Minimum of 5+ years of experience in a professional services or tax services organization.
• Excellent organizational and verbal/written communications skills; effective time management.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced professional services environment.
• Strong research skills; ability to navigate Westlaw, CCH, RIA, etc.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail; effective knowledge of excise tax concepts.
• Computer software proficiency (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Willingness to travel as needed; capable of working in a balanced hybrid environment.

• Ideally CPA, EA, or JD/LLM (not required).
