Project Manager - Client Services

The Project Manager is responsible for the timeliness, accuracy, and customer satisfaction related to customer deployments and expansions within identified geographic markets. The role may focus on customers in identified markets and may manage multi-market deployments. The PM leads and coordinates inter-departmental activities to ensure accurate and timely deployments, coordinating customer requirements with Sales Engineering and Data Center Operations, and interacts regularly with Sales and Marketing.

The PM supports Sales in pre-sales demonstrations and ensures a smooth customer experience.

Duties
  • Responsible for the overall planning, implementation/management, and close-out of customer move-in, expansion and migration projects.
  • Coordinate with other Project Managers to complete multi-market deployments; may be responsible for entire multi-market deployment.
  • Work with customers, Sales Engineering, Data Center Operations, and Sales to develop project scope of work documents, define project deliverables and project plans, and ensure quality delivery and customer satisfaction.
  • Serve as project manager for customer interaction in market, including planning, vendor management and completion of deployments in a timely manner against readiness metrics.
  • Verify accuracy of customer implementations against Master Service Agreement/Order Forms and other approved requests, including adherence to contractual SLAs.
  • Process all customer orders (Power, Cross Connection, cage/cabinet builds, and package deliveries); manage resources to ensure accurate work orders.
  • Ensure excellent customer service throughout the project lifecycle by proactive communication with customers and internal departments.
  • Collaborate with internal business units to evaluate, identify, and resolve project risks.
  • Identify opportunities for internal process improvements and work with business units to implement changes.
  • Act as the first contact for pre/post-sales implementation in the geographic market.
  • Participate in weekly market calls.
  • Promote and demonstrate Core Site’s culture and guiding principles.
  • Respond to email and phone inquiries; handle other projects and duties as assigned.
Skills & Abilities
  • Extreme attention to detail; strong customer service orientation.
  • Strong interpersonal and advanced project management skills.
  • Ability to drive stakeholders to meet timelines and deliverables.
  • Understanding of electrical and mechanical systems in a data center environment; knowledge of data center IT infrastructure.
  • Positive, energetic, flexible in a high-growth, dynamic environment.
  • Experience in telecommunications, construction, critical facility builds, or hardware deployment (bonus).
  • Independent judgment and discretion in significant matters; strong work ethic and accountability to deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Advanced computer skills (Excel and Microsoft Project); ability to analyze business processes and identify improvements.
  • Team-oriented, able to work independently while coordinating with others.
Travel and Work Arrangements
  • 80% onsite work required; onsite at Core Site data center campus for meetings and collaboration 4 days per week.
  • Travel is expected at a minimum of 15% of the time, driven by customer needs.

Education/Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in customer service.
  • Co-location data center or telecommunications experience preferred.
