** About the Role
** We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and support scalable data solutions that enable enterprise analytics, reporting, and Machine Learning / AI use cases. This role requires strong expertise in data modeling, ETL development, and production data pipelines, along with the ability to support the rollout and operationalization of ML and AI-driven solutions.

The Data Engineer will work closely with analytics, business, and engineering teams to ensure data is reliable, well-modeled, and ready for consumption across reporting and advanced analytics platforms.
** What You Will Do
*** Understand business and technical requirements and translate them into robust, analytics-ready data models.
* Design and maintain logical and physical data models optimized for reporting, dashboards, and ML feature consumption.
* Perform impact analysis for upstream system changes and assess downstream effects on data pipelines, reports, and ML/AI workflows.
* Build scalable, refreshable data pipelines supporting dashboards, KPIs, AI/ML use cases and model training.
* Partner with application and analytics teams to prepare, transform, and curate datasets for ML and AI applications.
* Support production rollout of ML and AI use cases, including data validation, monitoring, and ongoing support.
* Monitor data pipelines and resolve production issues related to data quality, job failures, or performance.
* Create and maintain technical documentation including data models, data flow diagrams, ETL design specs, configuration and production support documents.
** What You Will Need
*** Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field plus three years of work experience, or master’s degree in computer science or related field is required.
* Strong proficiency in Python and SQL.
* Proficiency in data modeling and ETL development.
* Knowledge of Machine Learning, LLM and AI workflows.
* Experience with relational databases such as Microsoft SQL, MySQL or equivalent.
* Familiarity with Linux environments, Git, and scripting.
* Exposure to backend services or APIs (Java or Node.js a plus).ZT Systems assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package is created for all our employees. The typical base salary for this position is expected to be between $82,500 and $121,000 per year.

If hired, the final base salary will be determined on an individual basis taking into consideration experience, skills, knowledge, education and/or certifications.
