Director of Warehousing Services

Our client, a global leader in freight forwarding and logistics, has an immediate need for an experienced Director of Warehousing Services, to join their winning team in Secaucus.

Our candidate of choice will be responsible for the domestic 3PLs warehousing and logistical functions of the business along with driving initiatives to optimize efficiency in the warehousing and distribution. You will report to the Executive leadership of the company and will have full control and responsibility for these functions with the goal of managing to ensure complete customer satisfaction and maintain company profitability.

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

• Lead domestic 3PL warehousing selection reviews & due diligence tours.
• Proficiency in warehouse/logistics software WMS review & development for AJWW
• Proficiency Warehouse mapping & optimization
• Own and manage 3PL warehousing agreements
• Experience with Intermodal freight transport
• Strong knowledge of warehousing liability insurance/ contract review and approval
• Define SLAs in conjunction with sales and compose client SOPs.
• Meet accuracy and timeliness targets set by management.
• Maintain metrics and analyze data to assess performance and implement improvements.
• Strategically locate and acquire 3PL warehouses.
• Setup warehouse layout and ensure efficient space utilization.
• Manage warehouse equipment leases.
• Maintain standards of health and safety, hygiene, and security
• Receive feedback and monitor the quality of services provided.
• Lead company food grade accreditations initiatives for FDA and NSF audits.
• Claims management for carriers and customers
• Other warehousing projects as assigned by management

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

• Excellent analytical, problem solving and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects.
• Knowledge of laws, regulations and food grade certification requirements
• Ability to work with little supervision and track multiple processes.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Expertise in warehouse management procedures and best practices
• Proven ability to implement process improvement initiatives.
• Strong decision making and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to travel 20%.
• Strong knowledge of Main USA ports/IPI Markets
• Minimum of 10-15 years of working experience in Freight forwarding
