Position Overview

The Executive Vice President & System CFO serves as the primary architect of the financial strategy for our expanding three-hospital healthcare system. This role is a critical member of the senior executive team, responsible for ensuring the long-term financial viability and operational efficiency of the organization during a period of significant growth and acquisition.

You will not only oversee traditional finance functions—including accounting, budgeting, and revenue cycle—but also lead the financial due diligence for future expansions, capital structuring, and value-based care initiatives.

Key Responsibilities 1. Strategic Financial Leadership
  • Expansion & Growth: Lead the financial modeling and risk assessment for the acquisition of new facilities and the integration of emerging service lines.

  • Capital Management: Direct the system’s capital structure, including debt management, bond issuance, and investment portfolios.

  • Board Governance: Serve as the primary liaison to the Board’s Finance and Audit Committees, providing transparent and actionable reporting.

2. System Operations & Performance
  • Resource Allocation: Manage the annual operating and capital budgets ($XXXM+ range), ensuring alignment with the system’s clinical and strategic goals.

  • Revenue Cycle Excellence: Optimize the entire revenue cycle continuum, from patient access to back-end collections, ensuring minimal leakage and high compliance.

  • Decision Support: Utilize advanced data analytics to provide "real-time" insights into hospital performance, service line profitability, and labor productivity.

3. Innovation & Managed Care
  • Payer Relations: Oversee managed care contracting and develop strategies for transitioning from fee-for-service to value-based reimbursement models.

  • Supply Chain & IT: Collaborate with the COO and CIO to leverage technology and centralized procurement to drive down costs across the three-hospital footprint.

Qualifications & Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business.
    MBA or MHA strongly preferred.

  • Certification:
CPA (Certified Public Accountant) designation is highly desirable.

  • Experience:
    * Minimum of 10–15 years of progressive financial leadership in a healthcare setting.

    • Direct experience in a multi-hospital system environment.

    • Proven track record in mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and system integration.

  • Skills:
    * Deep understanding of Medicare/Medicaid reimbursement, DSH, and 340B programs.

    • Exceptional executive presence and the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
