Mid-to-Senior Sales Associate, Off-Price Retail

Location: Secaucus, NJ
Job Type: Full-Time
Schedule: Monday–Friday (Travel required based on retailer meeting schedules)

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly experienced and aggressive Mid-to-Senior Sales Associate to drive significant revenue growth within the competitive Off-Price Retail sector;
specifically Burlington
.
This is a critical, high-expectation role where the right candidate is expected to slot in immediately and provide value from day one by leveraging their existing relationships and understanding of deep-discount and flash-sale buying cycles. You will be responsible for managing and significantly expanding our penetration into major off-price host retailers, with a specific focus on Burlington and similar large national chains (e.g., strong experience with retailers like Home Goods is a significant plus).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Key Account Ownership: Immediately take ownership of existing off-price retailer accounts and rapidly expand business with target retailers, ensuring maximum order fulfillment and shipment compliance.

  • Strategic Pitching: Develop and present customized product assortments, price points, and promotional strategies tailored specifically to the needs and volume of off-price host retailers.

  • Negotiation: Expertly negotiate contracts, delivery schedules, and markdown allowances to ensure high profitability and low chargebacks.

  • Forecasting: Collaborate with internal demand planning and logistics teams to provide accurate sales forecasts and inventory projections for large-volume off-price commitments.

  • Market Analysis: Monitor retail trends, competitor pricing, and liquidation opportunities to position our products advantageously within the host retailer’s floor space.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive B2B wholesale sales experience, with a heavy emphasis on selling consumer products to large, national retailers (
    specifically Burlington
    ).

  • Mandatory Off-Price Expertise: Direct, demonstrable experience managing relationships and selling into major off-price national chains (
    Burlington is a primary focus). Experience with similar retailers (e.g., T.J. Maxx, Marshalls, Home Goods) is highly valued.

  • Proven track record of success in high-volume, quick-turn sales cycles characteristic of the off-price market.

  • Exceptional presentation, negotiation, and account management skills.

  • Familiarity with retailer vendor portals, EDI processes, and compliance requirements common to major host retailers.
