Shape the future of Sechelt, British Columbia, as a Building Official responsible for managing building permits and ensuring compliance with local codes. This full-time position offers a flexible schedule!
As a Building Official, you will collaborate with applicants, conduct important inspections, and provide technical support. This role reports to the Chief Building Official and plays a vital part in community safety and development. Key Responsibilities:
• Manage and evaluate building permit applications from start to finish
• Ensure compliance through regular inspections and code checks
• Calculate fees and issue permits for various projects
• Provide technical expertise and respond to inquiries
• Educate applicants on building regulations and best practices
Requirements:
• Completed Grade 12 or equivalent education
• Diploma in Building or Civil Technology
• BOABC Level 1 certification required
• Minimum two years of relevant work experience
• Sound knowledge of BC Building Codes
