Position: Support Worker for Women
Make a meaningful impact as a Women's Support Worker at Sunshine Coast Community Services in Sechelt, BC. Provide emotional support, advocacy, and assistance in a welcoming environment for women and children in need.

This on-call position focuses on well-being within the Yew Transition House, serving individuals of diverse backgrounds. You will offer individual emotional support, engage in safety planning, and conduct intake procedures as necessary. Collaboration with team members for smooth operations is essential, and you will respond to a 24-hour access phone line to assist residents effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

• Welcome and orient women and children in the house

• Provide emotional support and crisis intervention

• Respond to the 24-hour phone access and document conversations

• Assess and conduct intake for shelter services

• Collaborate on administrative tasks for efficient operations

Requirements:

• Post-secondary degree in a related field preferred

• Experience working with women and children of all ages

• Non-judgmental communication with diverse populations

• Knowledge of trauma-informed practices

• Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle needed
