SummaryThe Administrative Assistant supports the mission of the Center for Human Services by performing secretarial duties to aid the Center’s support teams through a broad range of administrative duties.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities- Provide overall administrative support by overseeing various daily office operations such as:
- Scheduling meetings and setting up appointments, conferences, and events.
- Handling general written communications such as incoming and outgoing mail and emails, typing, proofreading, and editing general correspondence such as memos, charts, tables, and graphs to ensure accuracy and clarity of information presented.
- Greeting and assisting office visitors.
- Answering phones and routing calls to the appropriate recipient.
- Utilizing a wide variety of standard office machines in daily work to include copier/fax machine, printer, multi-line telephone, shredder, laminator, projector, and scanner.
- Create and maintain a highly organized professional environment by:
- Filing and managing physical and electronic records in organizational databases and/or software applications to current standards.
- Collaborating or working independently on special projects, if needed.
- Maintains compliance as needed by:
- Maintaining knowledge of the agency and departmental policies and procedures.
- Presenting a positive attitude and demeanor when working with co-workers, administrative staff, supervisors, and/or other agencies.
- Accepting and willingly carrying out special assignments or duties, when requested.
- Completing training as required and seeking training opportunities for applications specific to the business needs of the organization.
- Maintaining confidentiality while working with sensitive information.
- Promoting safety to make CHS a safe place in which to work.

REQUIRED EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
- Associates degree (AA or AAS) in related field plus one year of related work experience or any combination of education and experience to equal three years.
- This position is primarily a sedentary role.
- Must be able to lift, carry, squat, bend, move, push or pull, and sit or stand for long or intermittent periods.
- Must be able to spend extended time viewing a computer screen and typing on a keyboard.
