Summary
The Administrative Assistant supports the mission of the Center for Human Services by performing secretarial duties to aid the Center's support teams through a broad range of administrative duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Provide overall administrative support by overseeing various daily office operations.
- Schedule meetings and set up appointments, conferences, and events.
- Handle general written communications such as incoming and outgoing mail and emails, typing, proofreading, and editing general correspondence including memos, charts, tables, and graphs to ensure accuracy and clarity.
- Greet and assist office visitors.
- Answer phones and route calls to the appropriate recipient.
- Utilize a wide variety of standard office machines in daily work, including copier/fax, printer, multi-line telephone, shredder, laminator, projector, and scanner.
- Create and maintain a highly organized professional environment.
- File and manage physical and electronic records in organizational databases and/or software applications to current standards.
- Collaborate or work independently on special projects, if needed.
- Maintain compliance as required by keeping knowledge of agency and departmental policies and procedures.
- Present a positive attitude and demeanor when working with co‑workers, administrative staff, supervisors, and other agencies.
- Accept and willingly carry out special assignments or duties when requested.
- Complete training as required and seek training opportunities for applications specific to the business needs of the organization.
- Maintain confidentiality while working with sensitive information.
- Promote safety to make CHS a safe place to work.

- Typing speed of 60+ WPM.

Education and Experience
- Associate’s degree (AA or AAS) in a related field plus one year of related work experience or any combination of education and experience equal to three years.
- This position is primarily a sedentary role.
- Must be able to lift, carry, squat, bend, move, push or pull, and sit or stand for long or intermittent periods.
- Must be able to spend extended time viewing a computer screen and typing on a keyboard.
