RN​/GN SW​/Surgical Short Stay WKND

The RN / GN must have the skill and knowledge to provide population specific care. He/She must have the ability to assess, evaluate, identify, and interpret the requirement and needs of the patients and perform based on those findings.

The RN / GN reports directly to Charge Nurse/Manager/Director.

• Education: RN graduate of Accredited School of Nursing.
• Licensure/Certification:
  • Must have valid, current license by the Missouri State Board of Nursing.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification/Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Required.
  • ACLS Certification within one year of employment or, if a current employee, by December 31.
• Work Experience: Successful completion of hospital orientation.

• Provide guidance and appropriate patient care to all ages and oversee LPN’s and CNA’s.
• Documentation of care in the EMR that is accurate and detailed of the patient’s care and conditions, including making sure care plan is appropriate.
• Monitor for changes in medical condition by assessments and notify physician if appropriate.
• Assist with procedures by physician as needed. Perform nursing skills (IV starting, NG placements, dressing changes, wound care, catheter placement, ect) and provide health care for hospitalized patient.
• Scan and administer medications to patients and monitor for side effects.
• Provide protection of medical record and maintain HIPAA compliance.
• Fill out incident reports as needed for actual events and near misses.
• Other duties as assigned.
