Job Summary
The Linen Attendant takes inventory of linen to ensure adequate supply in all areas, distributes linens, and keeps a daily log. This role reports directly to the Director of Environmental Services.
Qualifications- Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Licensure/Certification: None.
- Work Experience: On‑job training.
Job Duties
- Inventory unused linen in all areas and bring each item up to daily quota, logging each item on a daily sheet and then into the computer.
- Restock exchange carts in areas that have them, bringing them up to quota.
- Transport linen from laundry to linen room and place it on shelves.
- Clean equipment and linen room; answer phone, pages, and supply extra linen when necessary.
- Required to work in laundry when assigned and when caught up with linen duties.
- Will be in areas if needed, washing, folding and delivering linen.
- Demonstrates support for the organizational and departmental mission.
- Supports and demonstrates knowledge of the Strategic Plan and the Hospital Key Initiatives.
- Fosters and promotes teamwork within the department and the organization as a whole.
- Works to resolve conflicts constructively and promptly.
- Communicates effectively and simply with every customer and co‑worker.
- Displays a positive, courteous and friendly attitude toward all contacts.
- Builds good relationships with others based upon sustained mutual support toward common goals.
- Exercises good judgment, reasoning, and concentration to detail, taking personal accountability for all actions in carrying out job duties.
- Is customer focused and committed to quality and process improvement, with a strong desire to provide service excellence.
- Possesses and displays a strong knowledge and understanding of the standards of practice for the position, including, when applicable, commensurate computer skills, population specific and general competencies, organizational skills, time and project management.
- Possesses a vigorous and enthusiastic desire to learn and grow both personally and professionally, improving one's skills to deliver the best possible care for our customers.
- Other duties as assigned.
