Employment Type: Part time, 12.5 hours per week
Shifts: Saturdays Only- 7:00 am – 7:30 pm AND 7:00 pm- 7:30 am

The Behavioral Health Technician position is responsible for providing direct and supportive care to clients/patients. Duties generally include, but are not limited to, providing general oversight of day-to-day activities, redirecting clients/patients as necessary, health monitoring (vital signs), intervening/responding to crises, communicating with the established treatment team, facilitating group education/structured activities, and transporting clients/patients as needed. Behavioral Health Technicians are responsible for possessing a basic understanding of client/patient treatment plans, monitoring and documenting client/patient behavior, and providing a safe, therapeutic, and supportive environment for clients/patients.

Key ResponsibilitiesDirect Support: Provide oversight of day-to-day activities and redirect clients/patients as needed.
Health Monitoring: Monitor vital signs and document client/patient behavior.
Crisis Intervention: Intervene and respond to crises, while maintaining communication with the treatment team.

Documentation of Care: Maintain clear and concise reports regarding client/patient behavior and treatment.
- Knowledge of confidentiality laws governing the treatment of substance use and mental health disorders.
- Capable of communicating ideas clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Proficient in basic mathematical operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively with clients, employees, family members, and other community contacts.
- Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out instructions in various forms (written, oral, or diagram).
- Basic keyboarding skills and ability to navigate and enter notes in electronic medical records.
- Ability to resolve problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Ability to establish rapport with clients/patients while maintaining appropriate boundaries.
- High School education or equivalent and two (2) years of responsible employment; experience in Human Services or a related field preferred.

- Successful completion of background checks including criminal record, driving record, abuse/neglect, and fingerprint checks.
- Completion of New Hire Orientation at the beginning of employment.
- Fulfillment of all training requirements including Relias at the beginning of employment and annually thereafter.
- Current driver’s license with an acceptable driving record and current auto insurance.
- First Aid certification within three (3) months of beginning employment and upon renewal date.
- Obtain CPR certification within three (3) months of beginning employment and upon renewal date.
