Co-Op Industrial Engineering Summer

General Information

The Co-op will be assigned to a Manufacturing Focus Factory supporting Artificial Intelligence Application. The Co-op will collaborate closely with the engineering team on a daily basis, contributing to a range of innovative and technically challenging projects.

• Support the implementation of machine learning algorithms for predictive maintenance, defect detection, and process optimization
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (Engineering, Quality, and Operations) to identify opportunities for AI applications
• Define and document a sustainable AI camera deployment strategy that outlines best practices for installation, data management, and continuous improvement to support smart manufacturing initiatives
• Need to be responsible, able to work independently, and open to instruction
• S/he will be given developmental opportunities through tasks such as projects, job‑rotation, hands‑on training, and exposure to Schaeffler's technological processes

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field
• Maintain a 2.5 GPA or higher per semester
• Familiarity with Python, R, or MATLAB and C#
• Experience in Microsoft Office Suite
• Experience creating Gantt charts
• Basic to intermediate understanding of machine learning concepts, data analytics, or statistic modeling
• Experience with SQL, Power BI, or data collection systems is a plus
• Excellent communication ability (written & verbal)
• Extremely self‑motivated & driven to achieve results
